Citizens Internet Portal

Like a firmly set flag pole, my takes on US politics generally call for improvement to the overall system, towards best, via a Citizens Internet Portal.

As a Concerned Citizen exercising his freedom of expression while neither paying for fake followers, likes, or (social) shares, nor selling ad space, these messages are written with a reminder that the 1st amendment explicitly mentions the press, an industry that people are both willing to pay for, and pay others to suppress.

Although the courts decide what isn’t protected speech, the executive branch has been granted presidential immunity by the Supreme Court, and there’s no telling how far the next president may push the boundaries. It seemed odd that, at the time, both the current and former executive-branch administrations benefited from that ruling, potentially emboldening behavior that endangers safety such as a public assassination attempt, where such an event took place within two weeks after that ruling. Politics is dangerous, but it doesn’t have to be.

The current system still seems somewhat steered by collective interest as opposed to special interests. With a Citizens Internet Portal, the People should be able to effectively wrangle the main-stream media, lobbyist, civil servants both elected and appointed, and hopeful politicians on their way into elected office - all into a much better way of organizing public affairs - to where citizen voices and leanings are clearly stated and expressed.

"Yes We Can" can transform our public sphere positively and productively, and therefore we should! We The People can “Make America Healthy Again,” and achieve “A Better Way Forward” towards “Hope And Change” so we can all claim “We Won This” effort to “Make America Greater Than Ever,” by nurturing a Nation united online.

If we succeed by ‘effectively creating’ and ‘appropriately utilizing’ a Citizens Internet Portal, this #TechnologicalTreeOfDemocracy would be a gift to our current and future selves. Future generations would certainly appreciate the collective endowment, similarly to contemporary citizens appreciating earlier transformations including the Declaration of Independence, the US Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and even the Magna Carta. Interdependent upon each other, we can all lighten the load online with a better, more efficient system, so why not try? What’s there to lose?

Compared to current, the corporate main-stream media, special interests, and governmental systems run the show without a good way for the collective to ‘flex our will’ in-between elections and outside of courtrooms. Designing an effective system should be top priority, especially one without the MSM, mis-leading polling, biased agenda framing, bogus PR, annoying advertising, wasted time, money and energy conducting inefficient operations, plus whatever else that could be worse. US leadership should allocate the funds to connect all concerned citizens who opt-in, which financially shouldn’t be that much compared to other bloated budget expenditures, to see what We The People have to say, individually and collectively.

How would you set up a version 1 system? What’s the best way? Let’s assume the Federal government, perhaps through the Public University System, initiates a secure website such as Voice.Gov or Vote.Gov. It should be open-source so programmers can see the back-end and contribute their efforts to build, secure, and maintain the system. The front end will be open for all citizens to set up a personal profile with the option to participate in survey questions galore, generated by the admins, where users may also submit questions for polling. Voting should be un-official to start, however the goal should be to make the online system as secure as paper ballots, or more so, always with the option to vote in-person for official elections, and the option to abstain from voting altogether.

Forums and data analysis tools could be open for all citizens to utilize, including all media such as social, citizen, independent, and affiliated. With a simple ‘publicly generated and maintained’ internet-portal that displays how people feel on all public affairs, we’ll be far better positioned to move forward civilly, no matter who occupies the power seats. What else would you include in a new Citizens Internet Portal?

Hoping for peace and harmony, with liberty and safety!

Concerning current issues, my personal commentary expresses which directions my sails are set towards, and leading up to the #2024GeneralElection, it's sad to see what the system has become. It's strange to see the #DNC taking such a dive, probably due to being compromised by the wrong, then corrupted by the worse. #Trump, for many, is the worst candidate, and for him to be chosen to represent the party of traditional #Christian family values for the 3rd straight general election, is a joke to most. He's certainly stronger with #RFKj, #Vivek, #Tulsi, and his #SupremeCourt picks, and at least he claims to want to protect #FreeSpeech, which is more than #Kamala - who concerns me in that regard. #JoeBiden should gift the #Nation a #CitizensInternetPortal before he exits office, it could legitimize his legacy by over-arching all that which he's proud of in his lengthy public-service career.
